Drawing on data from over 5,000 veterans with ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, or indeterminate colitis, the team observed significant reductions in IBD-related emergency visits, hospitalizations, and corticosteroid prescriptions among patients who received vitamin D supplements after testing.
