The World Health Organization officially declared the spread of COVID-19 a pandemic in March 2020.
One year later, the global count of COVID-19 cases is approaching 120 million, and the US count is close to 30 million, according to a data dashboard from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. Deaths from the disease have surpassed 2.6 million worldwide, with nearly 530,000 in the United States.
